Winter Adventures in the Canadian Rockies

Some people see snow and think about back breaking shoveling, bad roads and frost bite. We see snow and think “Perfect!” Don’t hibernate your winter away; get out there and experience the many adventures the Canadian winter can offer. If you’ve ever had the yearning to try cross country skiing let us guide you through one of the many trails around Banff and Kananaskis. While you’re at it, take an afternoon to go snowshoeing through the mountains. If you’re tired of the gym and looking for a new way to keep off those extra winter pounds try a new adventure. You’ll be surprised at how much fun this workout can be! Now that you’ve had a taste of the fresh mountain air you’re going to be looking for more. Double up your socks for a winter camping adventure, but be sure to take our Alberta Wilderness Survival course before heading out.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a healthy, invigorating and fun way to explore the countryside. We start our tours on trails and then teach you the skills to go off track. Enjoy the floating feeling of snowshoeing through powder snow. We will take you on a Guided 2 to 3 hour trail in the beautiful Elbow or Kananaskis Valley with the picturesque mountains as your backdrop. Learn how to build an Igloo/Snow Cave and identify the animal tracks of Elk, Lynx and Snowshoe Hares. Our experienced and knowledgeable Guides will also teach you about the geography, history, flora and fauna of the area. All equipment as well as a complimentary beverage and snack is provided for your day in the Outdoors!
